I am a South African French-speaking graduate with an academic background in French, English, political science and international studies. I am currently completing a BA Honours in French at Stellenbosch University, following a Master 1-level Erasmus+ exchange at Université Marie & Louis Pasteur in Besançon, where I studied entirely in French and attained CEFR C2.1.
My interests lie at the intersection of France, South African current affairs, international relations, media and intercultural communication. Through French-language tutoring, university work, website management, event production and international programmes, I have developed the ability to analyse complex information, communicate it clearly and adapt my approach to different audiences.
I am particularly interested in how responsible public communication can strengthen understanding between France and South Africa. I value curiosity, accuracy, public service, intercultural respect and constructive cooperation.

Academic Background
My studies have combined language, literature, politics and international perspectives. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in the Humanities, majoring in French and English, at Stellenbosch University, earning distinctions in French in 2023 and 2024. I am now completing my BA Honours in French, with coursework in Francophone African literature and film and an independent research dissertation.
In 2026, I was awarded an Erasmus+ bursary to study at Université Marie & Louis Pasteur in Besançon. There, I completed Master 1-level coursework taught entirely in French, covering French-language teaching, the international diffusion of French and European language policy. During this exchange, I attained CEFR C2.1 proficiency in French.
Experience
As the founder of MindBloom Tutors, I teach French to learners of different ages, abilities and goals. I manage every part of the service, including client communication, tailored lesson design, website maintenance, scheduling, invoicing and administration. This work has taught me how to make complex information accessible while building trusting, professional relationships.
At Stellenbosch University, I have worked as a French tutor and marking assistant, supporting undergraduate students with grammar, comprehension and written expression. Assessing academic work has strengthened my accuracy, analytical judgement and ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
I also co-organised and produced Kurated Kulture, a ticketed cultural event at Penthouse Stellenbosch. Working with one collaborator, I helped coordinate a seven-act local and international DJ line-up, venue communication, Howler ticketing, digital promotion, branded merchandise and on-site delivery.
Beyond these projects, my experience as a volunteer beach lifeguard and squad leader has taught me to lead calmly, communicate clearly and make responsible decisions under pressure. As a swimming instructor, I work with learners of different ages and abilities—including autistic children—and adapt my teaching style to the needs of each individual.
France and International Experience
My connection with France has developed through three separate stays: an AFS high-school exchange, the Concours de la Francophonie in Annecy and a postgraduate Erasmus+ exchange in Besançon. These experiences gave me a lived understanding of French society and culture while developing my independence, adaptability and intercultural judgement.
International scholarships have also taken me to the BP Global STEM Academy in Brazil and the AFS Youth Assembly in New York, where I represented South Africa in discussions about diplomacy, international cooperation and global policy.
Skills
Communication and Research
I bring strong English writing, advanced French, academic research and public-speaking ability. My studies have trained me to identify the essential points in complex material, assess nuance and communicate information accurately for different audiences. I am particularly interested in current affairs, political and media analysis, and responsible institutional communication.
Digital Content and Websites
I have practical experience producing digital content and managing websites using WordPress, Wix and Squarespace. My content tools include Canva and CapCut, with experience creating material for Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok. I also understand the fundamentals of website structure, audience-focused copy and basic on-page SEO.
Organisation and Relationships
Running an independent tutoring service and co-producing a live event have strengthened my planning, administration and stakeholder-management skills. I am comfortable coordinating schedules, managing deadlines, communicating with clients and partners, and responding calmly when circumstances change.
Beyond Work
Outside my professional and academic life, I enjoy open-water swimming, running, hiking, camping and travelling. I have been involved in lifesaving since high school and continue to volunteer as a squad leader at Muizenberg Beach. Time outdoors, shared meals and experiences with friends keep me grounded and have shaped my appreciation for community, resilience and an active life.
Let’s Connect
I am interested in opportunities involving communication, international cooperation, education and France–South Africa relations.
